A wine jug after a South Italian oinochoe, finished as plain working pottery.
Printing and assembly
Two parts. Print the lower upright on its foot and the upper on its cut face; the upper is 244 mm tall. Support the handle loop by hand and check under the spout. Variable layer height helps on the curves. Don’t scale the parts: the joint depends on it.
It blows over outdoors. For ballast, epoxy weight into the base in thin pours; PLA softens at 55 °C.
Slide the upper over the sleeve on the lower part, glue, then fill and sand the seam.
Finishing
Rub on Bondo glazing putty with your fingers in thin, uneven horizontal layers for a pottery texture. Paint with Rust-Oleum Terracotta Chalk, then add washes to redden it. Keep it matte.
Display only; not for liquids.
